HD PoE Security Camera Systems
GW Security’s selection of PoE security camera systems is one of the most comprehensive available anywhere: over 697 configurations spanning 5MP, 4K (8MP), and 12MP resolution, in 2- to 128-camera packages. Every system pairs PoE cameras with a matched NVR so power and data run over a single Ethernet cable, eliminating the mess of separate power adapters at each camera. Whether you’re covering a single storefront or a multi-building campus, you’ll find a system here that’s already spec’d and ready to deploy.

Why a PoE IP System Beats Other Wired Options
An IP camera system gives you a level of image quality, flexibility, and scalability that analog setups simply can't match. If you've looked at security cameras before, you've probably encountered both analog (coaxial) systems and IP-based systems. Here's the practical difference: a wired IP security camera system transmits video as digital data over standard Cat5e/Cat6 Ethernet cable. That means sharper images, longer cable runs (GW's systems support runs up to 325ft per segment), and a network infrastructure most businesses already have. Analog coaxial systems cap out at lower resolutions and require separate power runs to every camera: more cable, more connectors, more failure points.
Power over Ethernet (PoE) takes IP a step further. The same cable that carries your video data also delivers power to the camera. No outlet required at each mounting location. For a warehouse, parking structure, or multi-story office building, that's a significant installation cost savings.

What's in a GW Security PoE System
Each system in this collection is a matched kit, comprising cameras, NVR, and cables, that work together out of the box. Here's what you're getting:
-
NVR (Network Video Recorder): The brain of the operation. An NVR security camera system records, stores, and manages footage from all connected cameras. GW Security's NVRs support H.265 compression, which cuts storage requirements roughly in half compared to older H.264 systems without sacrificing image quality. Many models support up to 128 channels for large-scale deployments, and the SATA drive bay supports up to 10TB.
-
Camera Resolutions: Systems are available in three tiers: 5MP, 4K/8MP, and 12MP. For most business applications (retail, warehouses, parking lots), 4K delivers excellent detail for license plate and facial identification. The 12MP systems are best suited for wide-area coverage where you need to zoom in digitally without losing clarity.
-
Camera Styles: Bullet cameras work well for long-distance directional coverage along driveways or perimeter fencing. Turret cameras offer a low-profile mount with a wide-angle view, ideal for interior corners and ceilings. Dome cameras are vandal-resistant and blend in better in customer-facing environments. PTZ (pan-tilt-zoom) cameras are available for applications where one camera needs to cover a large area actively.
-
AI Detection Features: Most systems in this collection include human and vehicle detection. The camera distinguishes people and cars from general motion (trees moving, lighting changes), which dramatically cuts down on false alerts. Higher-end models add face recognition and area intrusion detection.
-
Audio: Many cameras include built-in microphones for passive audio recording. Select models support two-way audio, which is useful for access control points or delivery areas where you need to communicate through the camera.
Scaling Up: From 2 Cameras to 128
A PoE NVR security system is easy to start small and expand. GW Security offers systems starting at 2 cameras and scaling all the way to 128 cameras on a single network security camera system, which is practical for campuses, warehouses, manufacturing facilities, or multi-location businesses that want centralized recording and remote access from one interface.
All systems support remote viewing via the free GWView smartphone app (iOS and Android) or desktop software, so you can monitor live or recorded footage from anywhere. There are no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions: footage is stored locally on the NVR.
Choosing the Right System
A few questions worth answering before you buy:
-
How many locations need coverage? Count entry points, parking areas, aisles, and any blind spots, then build in extra NVR channel capacity for future expansion.
-
Indoor or outdoor? All outdoor cameras in this collection are IP66-rated weatherproof. Look for motorized varifocal lenses if mounting distance from the subject varies.
-
How much storage do you need? At 5MP with H.265, an 8-camera system recording continuously uses approximately 2TB in 11 days. The NVR's SATA bay supports up to 10TB, so most deployments have room to grow.

Frequently Asked Questions: PoE Security Camera System
Do these systems require a monthly subscription or cloud service to function?
No. GW Security systems record locally to the NVR's hard drive with no monthly fees or cloud subscriptions required. Remote viewing via the free GWView app is also subscription-free. You just need an internet connection at the NVR location.
Can I add cameras to my system later, or do I need to buy a new one?
Yes, you can add cameras at any time up to the NVR's channel limit. If you buy an 8-channel NVR with 4 cameras today, you can connect up to 4 additional GW Security IP cameras later without replacing the recorder. Systems with 16-, 32-, and 64-channel NVRs give even more room to grow.
Does the system keep recording if the internet goes down?
Yes. Footage is stored directly on the NVR's local hard drive, so an internet outage has no effect on recording. You'll only lose remote viewing access until connectivity is restored. Everything on-site continues recording normally.
