Yes, you can use an external POE switch with that NVR. There are multiple ways this type of installation can be done. The location of the router is a factor. One way is to connect the NVR network port to one of the two uplink ports (port 9 or port 10) on the 8ch POE switch - then connect the other uplink port on the 8ch POE switch to the router or network source. Another option is to connect the NVR network port to the router and connect the 8ch POE switch uplink port ( port 9 or port 10) to the same router or network source as the NVR. When connected to the same router the NVR will be able to connect to the cameras in the 8ch POE switch.
